Nurse Unit Manager

Our client is a well-known national provider of an integrated healthcare service dedicated to health promotion and prevention within a correctional environment. The organisation is committed to providing a high standard of comprehensive primary healthcare specifically tailored to meet inmate community needs.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident and experienced Nurse Manager to lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals providing primary healthcare service within a correctional facility.

You should have a solid background in the acute sector, both in a managerial and clinical capacity. Mental health experience would also be desirable, but not essential.

Key selection attributes for this role include:

• Ability to maintain exceptional working relationships with key stakeholders, management, staff and clientele
• Demonstrated ability to manage resources and provide quality services within budget parameters in a complex environment
• Human resource management including participating in recruitment and selection, staff orientation, rostering, performance management

Essential criteria:

• Current Division One Registered Nurse
• Competent clinician with relevant experience in a range of acute, aged care or primary healthcare settings
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team
• Relevant knowledge of quality assurance processes ACHS EQuIP, OH&S and compliance
• Advanced reporting and communication skills
• Ability to provide an on-call service as rostered
• Willing to undergo criminal history checking
