Pacific Shores Healthcare (PSH) (a division of The GEO Group Australia Pty LTD), is an accredited primary healthcare provider delivering quality care to ten correctional facilities throughout Victoria.
We have a number of full time, part time and casual opportunities for Registered Nurses at the Barwon Prison Medical Centre. These positions are varied and challenging where no day is ever the same.
Successful applicants will:
- Possess current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Have experience in a variety of acute and/or primary health care settings
- Enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Be committed to delivering quality primary health care services in a correctional environment
- Possess excellent clinical assessment skills and be an effective communicator
- Be committed to timely incident reporting, legislative compliance, documentation and developing stakeholder relationships
- Have extensive knowledge, understanding and a genuine commitment to legislation, standards and quality practices
Your role will incorporate conducting clinics, administering medication, case management and health promotion. Previous experience in Correctional Health is not essential, as support and a comprehensive orientation program is provided. Hours of services are negotiable for the casual opportunities. A mandatory Police Check will be required.
